While "SOUL COVENANT" generally allows online multiplayer without port forwarding, there may be cases where communication is restricted due to errors related to your network environment, router, or provider's security settings.


If issues occur only when playing with specific players, please also check their communication status and compatibility.


If there is no error code, trying one of the following solutions may help improve the situation:


* The effectiveness of these solutions may vary depending on your environment and settings. Please consult your provider or device manufacturer for detailed assistance.

* Due to various factors, we cannot guarantee a definitive solution. Thank you for your understanding.

* PlayStation Plus (subscription required) is necessary for online multiplayer on PlayStation 5.


(1) Restart internet-related devices (modem, ONU, CTU, router, etc.) and wait for a while before playing.


* Wait several minutes after turning off and on the power.

* Some devices may require several minutes to several hours to properly restart.

* If you are unsure how to restart, please consult your device manufacturer.


(2) If your router or CTU has UPnP functionality, enable it.


* UPnP facilitates connections between devices on a network.

* If you're unsure how to set it up, please contact your router manufacturer or provider.


(3) If other devices (such as PCs or smartphones) are using the same connection, temporarily refrain from using them and play in a "game-only" state.


* Using the same connection for multiple devices can cause instability in communication.

* If playing without using other devices resolves the issue, it's likely the cause.


(4) If your PlayStation 5 is connected wirelessly to the network, consider connecting it via a wired connection if possible.


* Wireless connections may be less stable, and a wired connection could improve stability.


(5) If you're connecting through a router, try connecting directly to the internet with minimal equipment.

If removing the router improves the situation, the issue may be with the router. Please consult your router manufacturer.


* PPPoE settings may be necessary for network settings on the PlayStation 5.

* For details, please check with your provider.


(6) Check if your provider's network connection is stable, and if it's unstable, wait for stability before trying to play again.

Issues with the provider's connection may affect gameplay, so please confirm with them if any problems occur.


(7) If necessary, open the ports required for PlayStation Network and Steam on your router, CTU, or provider.


* Opening ports without restricting IP addresses can pose security risks to other devices. Please be cautious.

* If you're unsure how to set it up, please contact your router manufacturer or provider.

* Open all ports that are restricted.

If the above steps don't work, there may be restrictions on PlayStation Network or Steam. In that case, open the following ports:

(8) If your NAT type is 3, try changing it to 2 or 1.


* NAT type 3 may affect internet multiplayer on PlayStation Network.

* Please note that Steam does not provide a way to check NAT type.


(9) If your router or provider has packet filtering or other security settings enabled, try disabling them before playing.

* However, please be aware of the security risks involved and proceed with caution.

About reducing VR motion sickness

Please try adjusting the settings in Memory Bank > Options > Comfort to values that suit you. Additionally, adjusting the interpupillary distance (IPD) of each headset may also help reduce motion sickness.

About conditions for online multiplayer

Multiplayer refers to "Avatari Squadron." This "Avatar Formation" is unlocked by completing the first diary of "Sumida Defense Battle II" in "Second Memory."

After unlocking "Avatar Formation," you can play multiplayer on any server.

Furthermore, cross-play is possible between Meta Quest and Steam.

If the game becomes unplayable

If unexpected problems occur during gameplay, try restarting the software or the console, as this may resolve the issue.

"SOUL COVENANT" supports both autosave at specific intervals and manual saves from the menu. If you restart the software without manual saving, you can resume the game from the autosave point. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
